Which material is used for filling the open joint? To give minimum but fundamental elasticity to the surface, the slabs must be laid and glued with open joint, choosing the width according to the shape of the slabs.
The filling material must be chosen favouring the elasticity features as much as possible, to be obtained with the use of special flexible latex to be added to stucco with medium-large grains.

The expansion joints previously created are to be filled in-depth with non-stiff and non-perishable materials (laces in expanded polyethylene, polystyrene), whereas the visual part must be sealed with polyurethane stucco with permanent elasticity.
The width of the expansion joints can be the size of the escape and, if wanted, it is possible to realise it in the same colour, so as not to have visual imbalance between the traditional escapes and the tiling expansion joints.
